How can I disable the grub bootloader and enable the lilo bootloader?

You can install lilo, create an /etc/lilo.conf, run /sbin/lilo and grub will be overwritten. Some distros provide graphical tools that enable you top choose either grub or lilo as your bootloader. They also automatically migrate your settings when you switch bootloaders. Since you have not mentioned which distro you are using, I don't know if you are using one that has these tools.
