Home Directories - Backup

Hi, I need to know how to have a bash script executed when the system is shutdown or rebooted. If the system is to stay on, 24/7 this script is to be executed every 24 hours at a predetermined time. I do not know how to do this. Could someone please explain to me how I implement this.

Thankyou

I believe to have something executed at shutdown or reboot, you would place it in the rc.0 or rc.6 file, but I am not sure if this would be linux-wide.

To have a script run at specified intervals, I would guess you could place it to run a cron job, maybe in the /etc/cron.daily file?

Just some ideas
