Home.desktop doesn't work
I have Mandrake 9.2 and I work with KDE 3.1
before few days, the appliction 'Home.desktop' stoped work. (I can't enter to my home directory with this appliction - [home icon]) What's the problem? I checked in Google, but I haven't find any answer yet. |
It could be a menu problem which is well known in mdk9.2. Try running this in a console:
$ update-menus -v That was the workaround for when the menu got messed up and IIRC when the start menu got messed up the desktop icons wouldn't work properly. If you can't open a console from your desktop, hit these keys: Ctrl-Alt-F1 and you will go to a command line login. Login with your username and password and run the above command. To get back to your gui, hit Alt-F7. Hope this helps. |
thanks, but it didn't work.
the output [when I am regular user] Code:
[achiad@localhost achiad]$ Update-menus[3830]: update-menus run by user -- cannot determine if dpkg is locking /var/lib/dpkg/lock: assuming there is no lock |
