hide a foldeeeer
 
how do we hide a folder in linux?and yet see it from the command line
?

If the folder name begins with a dot it's (by default) hidden in the file explorers. However you can see it with the '-a' option to ls.

u dont seem to get my point.I dont like too many folders in my gui.so i want to hide some folders,which i dont user that frequently,from the gui only

As said earlier, putting a dot in front is the easy way to do this. KDE will show or hide dot files as requested. Other than that try restructuring how you have the files stored in subdirectories.
