I guess im new to linux, a year straight using it, as well as a few dual booting win and linux.
Im running Mandriva 2010 powerpack 64bit
question is, figure ill post it here then making another thread.
I want to install Slackware 13 64bit, on another hdd portion, but im just wondering how i can make that work with my existing bootloader (lilo)
so i can either add slack to it along with mandriva, or if i install slack if it will overwrite it will it also detect mandriva.
Just so i have a way of getting on a workin distro just in case, since ive had a lot of experince with my on board network card not workin on fresh installs.

Reason: Moved to Linux-General
Typically what I do when I install any secondary distro is to install the new bootloader to the / partition instead of the MBR (Master Boot Record). Then I alter my primary distro's boot loader to chainload that new partition. Basically, that just passes the primary bootloader off to the bootloader in that partition, which could be anything -- grub legacy, grub2, lilo, Windows Bootloader, XOSL, PLoP, etc. Then that bootloader does the rest.
I haven't ever installed Slackware, so I don't know what step in the install it asks where to put the bootloader or if you need to run the installer in "expert" mode to do this, but it should be an option.
