Hey, Need Lots of help Very very new to Linux
 

Ok is there some way/how i could find a text or somting or could some one tell me how do i run progams on linux RedHat i have never used Linux Before and was told redhat was a good on to go with so if possible could some one give me a step by step tutorial on how to use it i have a

Do you have KDE or GNOME installed? it is very similar to windows if you have KDE or GNOME installed...what do you mean by "run programs" exactly...other than that just google for linux newbie guide, linux starter guide etc.

1) I assume the full stop key on your keyboard doesn't work. Please try to phrase your post better to make it easier for others to read.

2) Try also to ask more specific questions, this makes getting a proper response easier.

3) For Linux tutorials, try some of the following sites, depending exactly on what you want.

also theres the "info" command (just like man in that it shows you a page of info on the command in question (or is supposed to, some developers write man/info pages that are completely stupid and only understandable by them)

i also heard the man command is not as good as info, heard it somewhere from the gnu tar man page, (go figure eh?)

Go to your local library or bookstore. You will probably find lots of info.

I hate man pages, they make the most common things really hard to find. Most are not really aimed at the users, more developers. They are just so hard to wade through and to understand. I don't care about the advanced arguements, I just want to know how to use it for the most common applications.
