Here's a weird one -
I can't kill my printer.
Okay, before you tell me to do lprm, etc. I've already tried that. I even deleted the queue and spooler directory. Something is feeding this printer garbage and I can't find it. lpq and lpc status both say there are no printers, let alone anything in them. It all started when I had a print server set up using lprng (suse 8.1). It worked okay. I should have left it alone. But I wanted to learn about CUPS, so I installed the cups drivers (first de-installed lprng). I went through the process of configuring a queue for the printer (Epson Stylus Color 400) and went to turn it on so I could print a test page. When I powered it up garbage started coming out. There were no visible jobs in the queue for the printer. I'd power it off, try everything I could think of to kill the queue, but it keeps printing garbage everytime I power it back on. I even disconnected the network connection - no difference. Where could the rogue spooler be located? I can't find Is it possible there is a residual lpr spooler somewhere that still needs to be deleted? I can't find anything that says where that would be? Help! |
