osiris32 Member Registered: Jun 2003 Posts: 38 Rep:	help with WinXP/SuSE booting really slow Hi, i am not sure if i am in the correct forum but i was hoping someone can help me. I have a son VIAO laptop. I have Windows XP Home and SuSE 9.1 pro installed on 2 partitions. rencently my laptop has been acting really strange. It will take forever for the grub menu to show up, i mean it will take about 20 mins to show up, and the whole time the disc access light woudl be on. so i switched to a new HDD (brand new HDD) and reinstalled windows from Recover CD and installed SuSE via DVD again. a few days later the same problem happened. switched back to the old HDD and it worked again.. waht gives? hard ware problem, or soft ware problem. any suggestions or answers? thanks
