help with shred

i ran the shred command on a partition on my harddrive and had it pass 5 times. is there any possible way to recover the data? the partition i shredded was a NTFS format (windows XP) it contained sensitive documents i want permanently deleted. will this do the trick? or will there still be a way to recover the data?

thank you

The data is overwritten with zeros making recovery extremely difficult if not impossible.

I don't think that five passes will quite do. Hence shreds default
of 25. Just give it the extra few ;] runs ...
