Help with Partimage please

Hi,

Whenever I start up partimage (the GUI), I get a dialog box saying that I'm missing inode. It says that partimage can create it, or I can using mknode. This warning comes up for each of my paritions. Once inside the partimage gui where I can create partition image files, the list of partitions is kind of screwy. My partitions are listed as part1, part2, etc. There is no reference to hda hda5, etc. I would be nicer if it clearly showed that partx = hdaX.

thanks,
sluggo

hmmm, I will have to guess you are running it from within your system? Try creating some partimage floppies or a cdbootable.

2) When you are in your system do you have a normal /etc/fstab file? do you have any errors in your /var/log files? and can you boot ok? You may want to mention your distro as I think freeBSD uses slices as its name for partitions.

Wow, that's a blast from the past! 1.5 years ago...

I think you are correct: at the time of my post I think I was running partimage from my os. I subsequently began running partimage off of a bootable cd without problems.

cheers
