Help with local login problem

I'm not sure when this happened, but I am unable to log into RedHat (7.2) via the keyboard. I get the login prompt, but as soon as I type in my username and press enter, I immedately get another login prompt.

I am able to login via SSH, but am not certain where I should look to fix the local login problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Is the behaviour the same with root?

hmmm, not sure if I understand you.

It doesn't matter what I try to log in with, as soon as I hit enter, it goes back to a login screen, I never get to password.

Thanks

Hi!

Sorry for the late response, but today
I found something interesting (maybe
what's happening for you?) ... if I try
to login into an older RH box, and
press TAB after the username I get
a login prompt right away, no password
query... my slack-machines swallow that
without hesitation.

Cheers,
Tink
