help with chmod


I am trying to load realplayer on slackware 9.1 I need to know the chmod parameters to make the binary file executable

chmod +x <filename>

or

chmod 755 <filename>

It would have told you this in the man pages, always available by typing: man chmod

You can find everyhting about chmod using:
man chmod

To make it executeable by all and only writebale by the owner use:
chmod 755 /path/to/file
