HELP: scsi emulation for BOTH units
Hello Everyone,
This is my very first post in this forum, hope you can help me.
I have 2 optical devices, hdc which is a CD-ROM unit and hdd wich is a DVD-RW drive. Only the DVD-RW (hdd) is recognized to be under scsi emulation by cdrecord -scanbus, but I need to have also hdc as a scsi-emulated device.
I've already added the append line to lilo.conf to tell the kernel to treat hdc as a scsi-emulated device, but no luck.
One funny thing: I've had exactly the same problem with SuSE 8.0 and Mandrake 9.1, but Knoppix (the amazing Knoppix CD) DOES recognize both units as SCSI if I try cdrecord -scanbus.
¿What am I missing in the config?

Thanks,
I've added this to lilo.conf:
append "hdc=ide-scsi"
And, also have re-freshed lilo by running "lilo" at the root (#) prompt.
I was wondering if I could look at some particular file(s) while running the Knoppix CD (wich sees both units as SCSI) to find out what's wrong. The only problem is that I don't have any clue of which files look to.

append = "hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi"
