Help!
Hi everyone. A while ago I installed lindows on my computer. I unistalled it later. At first it just came up to the "choose your operating system" screen after uninstall. I figured it was just an uninstallation error because when I selected Lindows it just froze. Today I converted my hardrive to NTFS file system. I started up the computer and it says "LILO - Descriptor Check Sum Error". Then I can't do anything else. Help! What can I do?
Thanks,
Alex

I'm sorry... I dont understand.. computer stupid person here
I don't understand... how do I get into a windows boot disk? If you mean get into windows, I can't... I get the error first.
Before reformatting and screwing my computer up, I tried what you said to do. It didn't work for one reason or another. It was like an invalid command or something... I don't really remember. Is there anything else i can do??
Thanks *alot* for your help
Alex

Do you have a windows boot floppy? Pop it in, power up your PC, interrup boot process to go to BIOS (you might need to press DEL or any other keys to get there), among the BIOS setting choose to boot from floppy first, and here you go.

Another thought, but first tell us what version of windows do you have? Your installation CD might be bootable, you can fromat mbr from there.

Well you need to get into the Rescue Console. When your system is booting up from the CD it should give you a bunch of options. Look for an option that says "Press R for Rescue Console"
Once there just type
fixmbr
Hope this helps...
