Unhappy Help! Kernel problems

Hi there,

today i tried to update my redhat 7.3's kernel using up2date -uf but i got an error saying there was not enough space available on /boot

I read up on this problem and read old kernels could be removed by first using "rpm -q kernel" and then removing old kernels using "rpm -e kernel-2.4.x.x.x.x"

So thats what i did. I issued these commands to get rid of what i thought were old kernels.
rpm -e kernel-2.4.18-27.7.x
rpm -e kernel-2.4.20-18.7

the current "rpm -q kernel" now showed this:
[root@ns root]# rpm -q kernel
After running up2date agian i got this error:
Error installing lilo.conf The message was:
test install of lilo failed
the current "rpm -q kernel" now shows this:
[root@ns root]# rpm -q kernel
So i checked what was in the current lilo.conf and there are still records of the old kernels i removed. They look like this:
And /sbin/lilo -v -v shows this result:

LILO version 21.4-4, Copyright (C) 1992-1998 Werner Almesberger
'lba32' extensions Copyright (C) 1999,2000 John Coffman

Reading boot sector from /dev/hda
Merging with /boot/boot.b
Secondary loader: 11 sectors.
Boot image: /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-27.7.x
Fatal: open /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-27.7.x: No such file or directory
Removed temporary file /boot/map~
Please tell me what to do about this. I'm clueless

Thanks, Froz
