Question HELP! - Issues with downloading files - they seem to be stuck at a certain percentage

Hello,

I have been running a nice linux server for the past 4 or so months without any issues. I run a portal package on it, as well as a webmail gateway (to my mail server). Yesterday, I had the following issues.

Anyone who tried to download a file via the portal (website), ssh, ftp, or whatever, the file would timeout at around 20% or so. It usually happens on big files (around 1 meg or so). I can get the files fine from my internal network no problemo, but anyone outside the network seems to run into the problems. I checked with my provider and they havent changed anything and they dont have any caps on bandwidth.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can go with this?

The connection is certainly stable. Have u a good MTU with your router ??

I recall my provider asked me to reduce it, and things got better. But I am not informatic expert at all.

Does it happen if you do:

xterm &
wget http://myfileiwannadownload.zip

?
