then go into the created directory and look for a README file or any text file with install instructions...(usually its something like ./configure then make then make install...but not always...you have to read the docs)
On the top of this forum is a thread titled: "Useful Thread about Installing Programs" which you can find here that might help as it explains how to install using source files:
