help installing gentoo for the first time

i am very unhappy with RH 9 and tried to install Gentoo; I even printed out the installation directions. I can't seem to get it to boot. I want to do the stage 3 install. Can someone please help me?

I don't really know exactly why it won't boot, but try surfing the gentoo forums - they're pretty helpful.

What can't you get to boot?
What bootloader are you using?
Did you follow the gentoo install to the letter?
