Help asap!

I know this has already been asked somewhere but i dont have time to look and research. One of my clients at work insisted on us getting a linux box and hosting it in house for the development of their site, and then transfer the site from our box to theirs when we are ready to go live.

I've installed linux 8.0 and did the COMPLETE install. it installed php/mysql and all that. My question is... They have two websites , so i need to set up my linux box to support two websites (they will just access it through an IP and directory, not domain) so when they go to like http://0.0.0.0/site1/ it goes to that first site and then that site can have its own cgi-bin, and then the next site is the same, except http://0.0.0.0/site2/ and it has its own cgi-bin

Also.. How would i set up phpMyAdmin ? I believe my MySQL is installed in like usr/bin or something.

How would i find out the root MySQL password? i set it, but i dont know if i can remember it (oops).

Please use more helpful thread titles in the future and try to refrain from using "ASAP" or "Urgent" in your titles, they come off as being rude to other members here that come and answer others questions/problems in their spare time.

This site would be pretty daft if everyone used "help me please" or etc.. for their thread titles. Most know if your asking a question you need help, that's why your asking.

Thanks.

In the time you wait for someone to answer...how long would it take you to use either Google/linux or the search engine on this site?

I really wish I could help you (unfortunately I don't know much about mySQL) but I gotta say that what you said above doesn't encourage anyone.

I wish it was that easy. But im a complete linux and i've got alot of other work here that I need to be doing, i cannot take the time right now to research this unless its the last possible solution. Any help that anyone could give would be very very VERY much appreciated.

No no, I didn't mean to sound harsh, just nipping bad habits in the bud.

That you are a newbie is fine. But I'm just saying that what you said came off as "I can't be bothered to do this myself so spoon-feed me the info", which unfortunately tends to happen a lot

I'm just saying that while waiting for an answer (and for about the same about of time you've posted here too) you might want to take a shot at looking for someone else who asked the same thing...then use THEIR spoon-fed answer LOL

In otherwords, work in parallel.

Another quick thing...you said Linux 8.0, did you mean Red Hat 8.0?

I've been there too and I understand...as I said, I wish I could help but websites and mySQL aren't my forte (yet)

(Btw, in just 30 seconds on google I found
this does this help at all? This is what I meant)

Look at your httpd.conf mate

#<VirtualHost ip.address.of.host.some-domain.com>
# ServerAdmin webmaster@host.some-domain.com
# DocumentRoot /www/docs/host.some-domain.com
# ServerName host.some-domain.com
# ErrorLog logs/host.some-domain.com-error_log
# CustomLog logs/host.some-domain.com-access_log common
#</VirtualHost>

Cheers,
