I'd be willing to help if it falls within what I know about Linux.

So can I ask you to edit the next edition of my GRUB2 Theming Guide?

my 2 cents
i don't understand the sense of this
there are already books about general linux and write a book where you talk about ALL the linux word (history, linux command, desktop, server, shell scripting, etc..) it's a titanic thing..

Are computer students really reading books these days? Or are they doing all the learning on computer/internet itself? What is the role of books when information changes everyday?

Dive in, the water's fine. But... get with the 21st century: Write an eBook...

See the July 10, 2012 posting here on the codingHorror.com blog, as well as the many other articles linked from it.

(Notice also that the author, Jeff Atwood, now has a best-selling eBook, as mentioned in the article.)

From the article:
Quote:
Here's one real world example. John Resig sold 4,128 copies of Pro Javascript, for which he earned a grand total of $1.87 per book once you factor in his advance. This is a book which still sells for $29.54 on Amazon new.
When you publish a book electronically, you can actually self-publish it (see "kdp.amazon.com" among many others), and in any case you keep most of the royalties ... so that a book which sells for $4.00 might net you considerably more than Resig's $29.54 out-of-print, most of which copies simply wound up in the pulp mill. With electronic publishing, the paper, and all of its associated cost and overhead, is gone. Nothing to print, nothing to schleb around in warehouses and stores hoping that someone will happen upon it, nothing to recycle.

Use the Internet to search for the tools, "sigil" and "calibre." You can target several platforms, including Kindle (Fire), Nook, Apple, and so-on, simultaneously. The money, such as it may or may not be, materializes in your PayPal account with no further ado.

I have no idea what you're asking.

Why don't you start by telling us what you want the other person to do, and what you expect your own part to be?

The agenda is clear however; what are your motives?
Are you a publisher?
Will this benefit linuxquestion.org in ways of publicity?

Sorry so direct but I'd like to participate. IMO it is a good practice to be able to anticipate before a "Finished Product" of hard work and dedication are practiced.

Code:

If so it's probably the students that are getting ready to complete their Red Hat Certification that either they are paying for or their employers are paying for-

I personally know a Professor that teaches (Law) at one of my local Universities and he said;
"All of my students use the internet for their HW and term papers"
He further explained to me that he is tired of telling them to read the chapter from which his lecture came from-

When information changes everyday it gets intresting (not sure how that's kept up on) but IMO w/o the books we wouldn't be able to establish the basic foundations of any practices. Hands on experience is good but w/o the book knowledge "how to" or just the knowledge needed to be known wouldn't be there. Unless, of course we are attending regular lecture or classes; that is-

By the way, it will be easier to read if you enclose the quotes in \[quote\]..\[/quote\] rather than \[code\]..\[/code\]. Apparently, you have been writing more books than internet posts!
