having trouble with samba.conf

im trying to configure my /etc/samba/smb.conf file so that i can have 15users upload to the public directory i made with share security mode no guest logins, broweserable and writable

i did this
[global]
netbiosname = XXXcom
workgroup = netadmin1
server string = linux pretending to be a widows server
guest ok = no
security = share

[pub]
comment = this is a test share
path = /pub
writeable = yes
browserable = yes

i saved changes and restarted the server and ran a testparm and it wont load it says cant open smb.conf file

i have all my users in the teams dir i made when formating and i have a home directory and a pub dir i made for the users can anyone figure out what im doing wrong
