We'd have to assume a few things.

That you have an .iso file of mx.
You have a way to create a boot media.
A way to select boot order and other options in bios.
A way to boot to that media. Be it uefi or not.

If we assume there is some OS on this drive then the install should warn you before you remove it. It should but not always allows you to easily delete partitions.
