Does anyone know of or have experience with software that I can install to monitor the harddrive (rpm, temp. etc). The same for the CPU, Fans, etc.?

Cool - personally I only use part of gkrellm's functionality, but it has become a critical part of my system. Definitely check out some of the themes; I happen to like "6nome" but my point is that the different display options can add to its usefulness -- J.W.

How about one that doesn't require a desktop manager but can see it from terminal? Anybody know of one?
