Hardware issues installing Fedora9 onto Sparc Ultra10

Hi folks

Despite two hours of searching through post after post, thread upon thread for information I know I once read I am reduced to making this query and imposing on your kindness to answer this question.

In respect of parameters passed to the kernel at install time, some of the hardware on this Ultra10 causes anaconda to fail and abandon the remainder of the installation. Do you know what to pass to the kernel to overcome dodgy IDE or other hardware in order for anaconda to complete the installation?

:-) Peter

Sure -- here is how you make your Fedora installation finish successfully:

Install Fedora 11.

Fedora 9 is out of date. This means that every part of Fedora 9 is out of date, including its hardware drivers. Your Fedora 9 installation is failing because of a conflict between your hardware and Fedora 9's hardware drivers.

I can't make this any simpler. Install Fedora 11.

Please show me where I may get Fedora 11 for SPARC processors. Last I saw number 9 was it for Sparc. 11 May be fine for x86, i64 and PPC but not for Sparc.

This means the original question is unanswered. A hint though. I thought that I saw domething about the CMD686 IDE chip was buggy and there was a kernel parameter that caused the installer to overlook it. Just what was the kernel parameter???
