Hardware drivers

I'm about to take the plunge and install SuSE Linux 8.1 on this pc and rid myself of Windows.

Will I get error messages if any of my peripherals are incompatible? For example, I can't find my ethernet NIC on the list of compatible hardware (Realtek RTL8139).
