hard Drive

ok this is whats my problem with this hard drive....i mount it, it works and all but that problem is that i get this permission error thing that tell me is a read only fs so i try to chmod but it tell it cant because it read-only so permission denied can anyone tell how to fix this problem

you're mounting it wrong, so the WHOLE DRIVE is read only, not the files. to explicitly tell it to mount read-write (assuming this is a file system that permits it.. i.e. not ntfs), try this:

mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/somewhere -o rw

please also take a minute to realise just how little information you've actually provided about this drive and what you're doing...
