Hang-up on boot

Hi Folks,

Linux (Mandriva 10.1) was working fine for me until yesturday when I got a hang-up on boot. The following messages appeared which I haven't noticed in the past:

"/etc/rc.d/rc.modules: line 23: 521 Segregation fault modprobe $module$ args 2>&1"

and

"<3>hw_random: RNG not detected"

and

"lrCOMM protoco9l (Dag Brattli)"

The hang-up occurs after the last message.

Does anyone know what any of these mean? I am a bit lost as to how to fix this at the moment.

Cheers,

Rob

I think IrCOMM is something to do with Infra-red communications, is this on a laptop with infra-red?

No, it's a desktop with no IR capability.
