Talking Hail LINUX

This just to hello all

I have loaded a fresh FC4 onto a SATA drive, but I want it to more look like Knoppix plateform .....Any ideas as i dont like the looks of it now and its not very user friendly

Hi, welcome to LQ.

Why didn't you install Knoppix in the first place? Anyways, you could look at Debian if you prefer a mature distro, and Knoppix is Debian-based after all.
As for the desktop look, I don't know which desktop environment FC4 comes with by default, but if it's Gnome you can replace it with KDE, which is used by Knoopix.

What you want to do is pick the session of KDE instead of Gnome from the login screen. Then it will pretty much look the same except by default it doesn't show all of the nice special fx when you run your mouse over the buttons. If you play with the KDE configuration files you can enable that as well as other things like tranparency, window colours, etc
