Angry gzlib: stdin: invalid compressed data -crc error

Hi,
I installed Fedora Core (which I have done lots of times very successfully) and had everything up and running great (PHP , MySQL, Mono, Apache,PHPSlash, etc) and after a week or so things began to get very unstable and I was booted to a shell. I did fcsk without success. I got my data off and decided to do a fresh OS install. Unfortunately, when I use the first Fedora boot cd (tested with media check) it starts to do the normal anaconda thing and then before the media check screen it says: running /sbin/loader and then gzlib: stdin: invalid compressed data -crc error and then the media check comes up. I proceed and then it kicks me out of the install saying: install exiting abnormally sending termination signals ... and then it says it is safe to reboot. I can't get past this point, so I can't actually do a fresh install. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you have a solution? I am having exactly the same problem -- at least the symptom is the same.

I had the same problem on my Athlon Palomino. By remembering an old Win2000 story, I reduced the amount of RAM I had by removing 1x128mB module and leaving 2x64. It worked. Try it and let me know if it works for you. Thanks.

I also have that problem when I try to install from my harddrive because I don't have a dvd drive. I'll try the ram thing. Thanks
