GUI/window manager for debian mythTV to show off linux?

I'm building a mythTV box, and I'd like for people who come over to the house to know instantly it's not a microsoft media pc. One of the reasons I want to build it is to highlight linux. I have zero experience running any window manager but either KDE or Gnome.
I am thinking something like enlightenment, which looks cool from screenshots I've seen, but I'm also thinking about something 3d (which I don't know if they even exist).
Now for the bad part - at least in the beginning it will be run on a 400 mhz celeron (I'm going to see if I can overclock it a bit, but I haven't even looked at the motherboard yet), with 256mb.
I would like it to run debian, but that's not set in stone.

FYI, 3D-desktop is a cool pager, that shouldn't use too much resources when you're not changing desktop. You may try...

OK, that's cool.
Thanks Yves, I thought for some reason 3d desktop was still in and not really working. I think I just looked at it a long time ago.
