Thumbs down GRUB on Windows wont go away

Hi, I'm working on a corrupted MBR and I just ran fixmbr from the recovery console for Windows (Linux is not currently installed, I only had GRUB and bootloaded Windows). So I ran fixmbr to get rid of GRUB entirely and now when I boot the hard drive, I just get a black screen with GRUB_ at the top (blinking underscore)

And nothing happens. I tried fixmbr again and nothing changed... How can I get windows to boot again? ( I know this is a linux forum, but in order to get linux running I need GRUB to not be stored on the Windows HD first)

Thanks

Try running fixboot on the recovery console too.
