Rep:
The grub shell is stupid ?
And will only know, what was found by the command
find /boot/grub/stage1 ( as said by syg00.)
... which is forgotten when hitting 'quit'.
So therefore the above is the first command.
Second command : grub> root (hd0,0)
Third command : grub> setup (hd....)
.....
no
I tried the find
it doesn't find.
it's odd, I've used grub before i'm not a newbie.
even using a puppy linux grub GUI didn't work.
though I've had grub on before, at the mo' it's BSD in the MBR.
no, it doesn't need to be mounted anyway,
but look!
Code:
grub> root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
Error 15: File not found
grub>
grub> root
(hd0,0): Filesystem type is ufs2, partition type 0xa5
weird.
my BSD partition maybe is weirding it out.
that's on (hd0,3) tho'
