Hi Friends,

I want to do a dual boot system (two disks), so, i install wXp, and startup with linux disk 1. When the first disk finished, the computer restart and give me the folow error:

"GRUB hard disk error"

My disk is fine i dont know what is the problem, need help.

Well, what disto to begin with and please explain how you partitioned it.

Plus, how did you format and where does the grub error happen, when you select something or just when you get to grub?

Depending on whether or not you got linux installed correctly, you MAY be able to use a cd and go into the linux install (aka boot of the cd and mount the root) or use a boot disk. I am not positive on your case though, it may be that the MBR got corrupted, did you have anything on it beforehand?

If you are not concerned about losing linux you can boot with teh recovery console with the windows xp disc and do 'fixmbr' which will rewrite your mbr. This will get rid of grub. Be warned, it may bugger up your computer too, so watch out if you are going to do this.
