What are you trying to accomplish with it?
I have installed Debian onto a separate partition on my Windows PC, placing GRUB on *that* partition and making it the bootable one, so GRUB allows me to boot Windows or Linux.

The do it the easy way would be create a separate partition of say 20 meg to put your grub on but you would have to chainload windows which would still use the windows bootloader. It would give you the option of booting usb distros without much trouble.

If you have windows 7 with a recovery partition there are certain steps you need to take which I can not help you with (maybe some one else will help you).

If XP or any other windows you need to download a linux live cd and burn. If you are using windows to burn with download and install a free program called image burn and it will burn your cd iso image correctly.

We need you to read some articles or find a friend familiar with linux to help you because there are lot of steps. Use Google Search and read tutorials on how to partition a hd using linux live cd. If there is something you do not understand post back here and we can try and help. You will find out what we refer to as the learning curve.

Before you do partition make sure and backup all important files that you need to keep in case anything goes wrong.

You can google create a separate grub partition and you will get a number of sites. Some are older for Grub Legacy like the one below:

http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux...bpartition.htm

Or the site below for Grub2:
