growisofs dvd-video
Alright, I'm going to try my luck here instead, never had much luck getting answers out from actual Debian forums. Hope I get a response this time.
Does anyone has any problem with growisofs -Z /dev/dvd -dvd-video <directory containing AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS>?
Burning completed successfully everytime but the dvd contains no tracks at all though I can see the burnt part of the dvd.
I used to be able to do that till recently. Has there been any changes in dvd+rw-tools, kernel-2.6-686-smp (i.e. kernel-image-2.6.8-3-686-smp) or mkisofs etc?
I'm running Debian Sarge with kernel-image-2.6.8-3-686-smp.
Well, I never had any problems with it myself.
However, I don't see the benefit from doing that all manually since the existence of tovid(and tovid-gui).

Thanks jens. Any idea what might possibly be the cause? Is it permission (setuid), media, hardware, software or firmware. None of those have changed really.

I doubt it has anything to do with that.
You probably did something wrong while creating the audio and video files.
I also don't remember ever having to use this "-dvd-video" option. Also keep in mind that video DVDs don't work the same in every country. Living in Belgium, it would never work for me without adding the PAL(our TV standard) function.

Thanks jens, your last reply pointed me on the right direction. I realised that it has to do with the syntax of growisofs that I was using for issuing the command. I managed to stumble and recall that I used to use absolute path to the directory containing the files to be burnt and all the failed attempts were issued using relative path instead. It's funny to have a quirk like that for a program but no harm done, it's working perfectly now.
Thanks again.
Kind Regards,
Daniel
