grep question
 

Is there a way I can grep the whole linux os? I am getting a modprobe error and I am sure I am got rid of every reference that the modprobe is probing for but I want to be sure.

Not effectively. Your best bet is to post your error. Chances are someone will recognize it, and my bet is that it'll be a simple fix. The "problem" with Linux is that it's so darn versatile that sometimes you rack your brain, and miss the most obvious solutions.
