I want to know which format or which tools I can use to create such GRUB boot pictures which Caldera show at the boot time.

I am not too familiar with the newer caldera's, but from looking at GRUB I don't think showing a picture during boot is a configurable item. It may be a caldera patch. I will research it a little further, if I find anything I'll let you know.
