GPL question

Me and some colleagues are in the process of coding a multiplatform online poker software package and this question came up:

According to the GPL would it be legal to use real money deposits for online betting if the software contained GPLed code? The software would be free and free tables are going to be available. Also, the source that used the GPL code could be disclosed without creating a security risk because the server scheme does not consist of GPLed code, only the Linux native client software.

The GPLed area of the code relates to the card graphics and shuffling algorithm.

Yes, you could use money - the GPL has no problems with raising money with GPL software. You're even allowed to sell GPL software. . .
