Got Problems with CNet Fast Etherenet (Davicom DM9102AF)
Hi:
I have just installed Linux Debian 3.0 with kernel 2.2.x
And I tryed installing my network card:
CNet Fast Etherenet (Davicom DM9102AF)
I first use the tulip and it showed me an error, but then I installed the other tulip-scyld and didn't show me any errors, but I can't ping anithing outside.
If your eth0 isn't complaining about your module, then it sounds right. Try as root to run netconfig in command line. Answer all the questions correctly and you should have a working internet connection. After you run netconfig, give it a reboot and see if you get an IP address by typing ifconfig. Make sure you know your ISP's DNS server name, primary and secondary DNS IPs, and if necessary, its DHCP server name/IP address. With this information, you should get connected to the internet in no time.

Are u sure abour that command? cause when I type "netconfig" doesn't reconize the command. The other thing that I am doing right now is donloading the drivers. In the hompage said that had linux archives within...
thanx
There is something wrong with tulip. Netconfig detects that's the driver but then my eth0 transmits anything but true Ethernet frames. From other sources (user's manual and davicom's web site) i was refered to dmfe driver.
Now it works. (I had to switch off hotplug in rc.....)
