Good Monkey's Audio (APE) Encoder

I'm looking for a Linux app that'll encode Monkey's Audio (.ape) files. I want to do the disk image thing (.ape and .cue) to backup and get an exact, yet compressed, copy of some of my CDs. Anyone know of an app that'll do this for Linux? Cheers!

There's which has a Linux port of MAC as a console version. I haven't yet used it myself, but plan to test it out. I intend to rip with cdparanoia to WAV and then use the port to make .ape.
