GNU / opensource alternative to Skype?

Hello, I am looking for a possible GNU / opensource alternative to Skype, which would be lightweight, and would not require too much packages, and would work flawless.

Would you know if there is today a possible CLI or X11 solution for Ubuntu?

thank you

Alternative to SKYPE

Can you be very specific about what features or functions of SKYPE you are looking for?

Skype does not work flawlessly so I don't know why you would have such high standards.

I recommend:
