gnomemeeting sound card problem

Hi all !
I m trying to run gnomemeeting on my system.
Now the problem is that,
My sound card seems to work all right with the gnome sound card recorder.
It does not play any mp3's though (no noatun, kaboodle works ).
I have not tried anyother format except mp3.
Now when i try to configure the gnomemeeting sound card configuration and run the test audio it gives the following error
"The selected audio device (/dev/dsp) was successfully opened but it is impossible to write data to this device. Please check your audio setup."

and Btw my system specification is as follows.
P-4
Motherboard gigabit.
sound card is build in and the sound card detection shows the followin sound card
Vendor: Intel Corp.
Model: 82810DB AC'97 Audio
Module: i810_audio

OS: redhat 9.0
i m really in need of help if it could come quickly
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help me

For MP3s, you need to install MP3 support into the operating system (not shipped by default for legal reasons). See xmms.org

Try running "killall esd" before running gnomemeeting.

Use alsa driver for getting the MP3 player running in linux 9 if your motherboard is intel 810
