gnome-ppp and pppd?

OK, gots me a silly question. Why is it that ONLY Kppp will dial AND allow internet access? It's odd, i've tried everything, honestly! gnome-ppp will connect, I receive local & remote IPs and that's it. Go to surf and "host can't be found" or some other browser related error pertaining to the fact that it can't use the ppp0 interface. Kppp uses pppd and works fine, so is it the dialer? pppd on the commandline is even worse, no IPs received and it disconnects. Anyone with similar problems and a fix? pppd file/group permissions are correct etc.

have you tried pppsetup as root in a terminal?

Oh yeah...All that does is automate the task of writing a pppscript, writing some symlinks and editing the /etc/ppp/options file. It doesn't matter what I do. Kppp is the only dialer that connects AND gives me internetability. I don't how pppd can be so choosey when it doesn't actually know who's pulling it to run as far as I know. Obviously i've dealt with it by using Kppp for my ISP connection up until now, but I hate having things out of order or not working PERFECTLY on my system and i'm fed up. Of course Konqueror is crashing on me now everytime I type in www.* Oh hell, screw it!!! *screaming obscenities* Have a nice day! LOL
