GNOME Developer MATE Defectors
So I was wondering - for those who are part of or closely track the GNOME Developers and MATE Community, is a significant portion of the developers behind MATE former GNOME developers that jumped ship after GNOME 3.0?
Just curious.

Don't know, but let's not try running Linux like a corporation or, God forbid, an army. Terms like 'defectors' and 'jumped ship' shouldn't have any place here.
