Question gnome desktop - screen blanking

hmmm .. I disabled the screensaver and power options but the screen still goes blank after a few minutes? Any ideas on where else to look for the cause of this?

power shiz

did you disable it in the kernel? to do so, you should have compiled a kernel without acpi or .. the other power management thing (I've been drinking and don't recall correctly atm.) apm I think? yeah apm. don't compile those in and you shouldn't have any power management at all.

Gnome.............I can't say I like it much. It seems to be a bit stroppy compared to KDE. It also seems to have got worse as time's gone on, they keep removing things and changing the file manager. Why? When I first used it on RH 5.2 it seemed ok.
