GLIBC-2.3 compile or RPM

Have Redhat 8.0 and need to install glibc-2.3, as it's a dependency of grub 0.93, which I need. I have only been able to find source rpms for glibc-2.3.1, but I have never had to compile anything before. Can anyone give me the right procedure? The files are in .tar.gz format.

Or, can anyone direct me to a Red Hat 8.0 RPM anywhere?

TIA

Al

Check out our tar term in our glossary link on this site. I shows the basics of installing a tar.gz file.

Or have you tried www.rpmfind.net for the RPM ?
