Glib library install older than 2.2 ??

Trying to install Flash plugin for mozilla and I keep getting this message " Your Glibc Library is older than 2.2 " then the install fails. I have Glibc 2.8 how can this be resolved? Or is there a way to just get mozilla to stop asking me to install the dam Flash plugin, I have been throught all the preferences and didnt see anything.
Thanks

If you're using Slack 9.1 your glibc isn't older than 2.2, Slack 9.1 is built on glibc-2.3.2 . The cvs version of glibc is currently at 2.3.4.
To stop getting annoying popups about missing plugins delete the libnullplugin.so from firefox/plugins
Also, it may just be a bug in the installer, which wasn't designed to work with Firefox. Just copy the flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so where you want them. You could put them in firefox/plugins . I find it more convenient to make a plugins folder in the hidden .mozilla folder in my home folder and put them in there, ~/.mozilla/plugins

It works now, I guess I needed to reboot. Never needed to before.
