Gkrellm Crashing /disappearing randomly

I like to have gkrellm, but as of late, it has begun disappearing at random. When i suspend, when i change VT's a couple of times it just disappears.

Does it disappear or does it die? Does the process still exist when you do a ps aux?

Umm... not sure. I just thought about that. By all appearances though, it dies cleanly (i have started it from the term, and it never returned any errors, nor error codes.

Ok, so i checked. I'm almost certain now that it ties into sound. Any app that is using sound when the computer goes into standby (or suspend, i cant remember which) it quits these apps. E.g. i put a volume meter onto my xfce4-panel, and it crashed too.
