Getting X-Windows to work

Hello,

I have just installed RedHat 8. When I boot up my machine, (which takes a long time so is there a way to get around the long boot up), it goes straight to the text based login. In my set up I told it to do a graphical login. How do I set it up so that I can use the X-Windows system rather than just the command prompt?

Thanks,

there wil be some srot of gui to do it for you somewhere, but the hardcore way is stupidly easy:

open /etc/inittab in your favortie text editor

change "id:3:initdefault" to "id:5:initdefault"

and next boot it will go straight to X.
