the only thing that concerns me is that in fdisk it sees my C: drive (windows) as unknow type, on my other computers it sees them at FAT.

I'm not quite sure on that part. Deadbug will prolly now.

ROTFL!

But, you're right, this will be better in the long run! The easy way to get what you want:

- Reinstall Windows and verify that it works. When it offers you the chance to make an install disk, please make one.

- Use Partition Magic or FIPS to cut Windows down to 50% of the drive (the front half). If you use FIPS and it creates a second partiton, use fdisk to delete it (Red Hat is less finicky if it encounters unused space). Reboot Windows and make sure it doesn't have any problems.

- Install Red Hat in the unused portion of the disk, letting it determine its best configuration (might not make a separate /boot partition) and installing Grub in the MBR. Again, please make an install disk.

- Make sure both boot properly

Should work fine. BTW, to answer your questions about why fdisk didn't recognize your C:\ drive, my guess is because it was damaged as we were discussing.

Dave, best of luck to you.
